Pro Poor Tourism Initiative in Lagoi Tourism Area: An Empirical Study Food Value Chain

This study aims to identify the tourism value chain and its contribution improving local community's economy, especially in food supply of 10 hotels/resorts Lagoi area, Bintan Regency, Riau Archipelago Province. uses a qualitative method related consisting vegetables & fruits, fish seafood, poultry meat. primary data through semi-structured interviews with sources from hotel/resort managers, collectors, farmers, fishermen, traders, suppliers. Foodstuff transaction obtained directly sources. Secondary reports by The results this indicate that existence area contributes economic turnover people Bintan. shows all needs for are supplied actors, i.e., business actors agriculture, fish/seafood, meat sectors. Local suppliers have become priority hotels/resorts. When requested item cannot be obtained, will seek it outside impact is felt producers, they farmers or fishermen. However, four sectors mentioned above, fish/seafood has high compared others, so broad real impact, fishermen stakeholders. shown image an archipelago wealth marine products, supported various beach sea destinations attract tourists enjoy processed products.
